Pukyong National University Takes Initiative to Revitalize Busan eSports Industry
Agreement between the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, Bugyeong Sports Club Social Cooperative, SBXG, and Busan eSports Association
The National Pukyong National University Sports Promotion Institute (Director Kim Young-hoon), Pukyong Sports Club Social Cooperative (Secretary General Jung Min-seung), SBXG (CEO Jung In-mo), and Busan eSports Association (President Park Joon-hyun) have joined hands to revitalize the Busan eSports industry.

View original imageOn the morning of the 6th, the organizations signed a four-party agreement at the Safety Education Room on the 4th floor of the Water Leisure Center at Pukyong National University to promote the development of eSports and foster organic cooperation. They agreed to collaborate on creating a lifestyle eSports city in Busan, revitalizing Busan’s eSports industry, and generating employment opportunities.
Through this agreement, the organizations will jointly work on establishing a lifestyle eSports system in Busan and nurturing elite eSports talent.
The National Pukyong National University Sports Promotion Institute, as a representative national university sports promotion organization in the region, will provide support in terms of human and material resources, including experts. The Pukyong Sports Club Social Cooperative will utilize existing sports facilities on the Yongdang Campus of Pukyong National University and, in partnership with Duoback and SBXG, will create professional eSports clubs, leading operations support and sports entertainment initiatives.
SBXG, an eSports company operating a Busan-based eSports team, will continuously host league tournaments to support local eSports clubs and discover promising players. The Busan eSports Association, as the representative eSports organization of the Busan City Sports Council, plans to support eSports clubs, develop and implement educational curricula for elite eSports talent development, and provide professional instructors and educational infrastructure.

The National Pukyong National University Sports Promotion Institute and other organizations expect that this agreement will contribute to enhancing the status of South Korea, the birthplace of eSports, by cooperating to revitalize the high value-added eSports industry centered in the Busan region.
