Jo Gyu-hong: "Discussion on Medical School Quota Expansion to Become a Historic Opportunity for Medical Reform"
Cho Kyu-hong, Minister of Health and Welfare, stated on the 6th that "we will unwaveringly complete medical reform measures, including the expansion of medical school admission quotas."
Minister Cho held the '1st Health and Medical Policy Deliberation Committee' at the Government Seoul Office on the same day and said, "This is the last golden time to save essential medical care on the brink and to establish a medical system prepared for an aging society."
Minister Cho said, "Now is the time to resolve medical gaps such as pediatric open runs and metropolitan area medical visits," adding, "Various regional and multiple ministry committee members are present, and there may be different positions and judgments on individual issues, but public safety is a core value that cannot be compromised or abandoned." He also added, "I hope you will contribute to the discussion on expanding medical school quotas with a progressive attitude (today)."
