Nowon-gu District Mayor Oh Seung-rok Attends '2024 Ddokddokddok Care Team Launch Ceremony'
On the morning of the 5th at 10 a.m., Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, attended the ’2024 Nowon Ddokddokddok Care Team Launch Ceremony‘ held at the main auditorium of Nowon-gu Office in Seoul.
The Nowon Ddokddokddok Care Team is a resident-led care service where neighbors take care of neighbors, actively identifying welfare blind spots and connecting welfare resources.
This year, the district selected 7,322 households in need of care, including the elderly, disabled, single-parent families, and middle-aged single-person households. To prevent overlapping benefits and build a dense safety net without welfare blind spots, households that do not use other care services were selected.
This year, two additional members per each of the 10 neighborhoods (a total of 20 people) were assigned, expanding the team to a total of 220 care members. Between 4 and 18 care team members will be active in each neighborhood.
The event was attended by about 230 people, including Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, National Assembly members Ko Yong-jin and Woo Won-shik, district council members, and officials. The ceremony proceeded in the order of opening and national anthem, introduction of guests, report on the progress of the Nowon Ddokddokddok Care Team, greetings, awarding of appointment letters, and commemorative photo session.
