No Wildfire in Gwangjin-gu... Wildfire Prevention Headquarters Fully Activated
Emergency Wildfire Prevention System Activated for Spring Dry Season Until May 15... Control System Established, Patrols and Inspections Strengthened, Drone-Based Wildfire Prevention Announcements
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has established a 'Comprehensive Wildfire Prevention Plan' and has officially entered an emergency wildfire prevention system.
From this month, when the risk of wildfires increases due to dry weather and the growing number of hikers, until May 15, the period is designated as the 'Wildfire Caution Period,' and a Wildfire Prevention Countermeasures Headquarters has been formed.
The headquarters is organized into 10 teams and 5 squads, led by the head of the Parks and Greenery Division as the general team leader, and operates without exception on weekends and holidays. The purpose is to prevent wildfires and minimize damage through systematic initial response in case of wildfire occurrence.
The main tasks include ▲ maintaining situation reports and communication systems with related organizations ▲ initial wildfire suppression and monitoring of residual fires ▲ patrolling and inspecting vulnerable areas for wildfire prevention activities. In particular, from March 15 to April 15, when dry weather is expected, available personnel will be intensively deployed to further strengthen monitoring and enforcement activities.
Additionally, a wildfire prevention system and equipment have been established to manage surveillance activities more systematically and efficiently. Real-time wildfire information is monitored through the wildfire situation control system and surveillance cameras, maintaining a 24-hour monitoring system. Fire extinguishing facilities have been installed at the summit of Achasan and surrounding parks to reduce fire occurrences and thoroughly prepare to prevent wildfire spread. Wildfire prevention and suppression personnel who have received specialized wildfire prevention training are also deployed to conduct patrols and campaigns. Wildfire announcement broadcasts using voice broadcasting equipment and drones are expected to serve as a compass for hikers during dangerous situations.
Furthermore, effective and safe wildfire suppression measures have been prepared. ▲ Formation of wildfire public official suppression teams ▲ strengthening cooperation with related organizations ▲ conducting joint training exercises, all prioritizing minimizing damage and focusing on rapid recovery.
