[Weather] Tomorrow is Ipchun... Relatively Mild with Cloudy Skies and Rain Nationwide
As the first of the 24 solar terms, Ipchun (立春), which marks the beginning of spring, falls on Sunday the 4th, and the nation will generally be cloudy with rain in some areas.
Nevertheless, the morning low temperatures will range from -2 to 6 degrees Celsius, and the daytime highs will be between 4 and 12 degrees Celsius, showing warmer weather than usual (normal low temperatures -12 to 0 degrees Celsius, highs 2 to 9 degrees Celsius).

View original imageDue to the east wind, there will be occasional rain or snow until the afternoon in the northeastern mountainous areas of Gyeongbuk, the eastern coast of Gyeongbuk, Busan, and Ulsan. In Yeongdong, Gangwon Province, raindrops less than 0.1 mm or snow less than 0.1 cm may fall.
In the eastern part of Gyeonggi, Yeongseo in Gangwon, and inland Chungcheong areas, raindrops less than 0.1 mm or snow less than 0.1 cm will fall at dawn.
From late afternoon, rain will begin along the Jeolla coast and will expand to other parts of Jeolla, southern Chungcheong, and Gyeongnam by late night.
Expected snowfall by the 4th is 1 to 3 cm in the northeastern mountainous areas of Gyeongbuk, and expected precipitation amounts are around 5 mm in Daejeon, Sejong, Chungnam, and Chungbuk; 5 to 10 mm in Gwangju, Jeonnam, and Jeonbuk; less than 5 mm in Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, Daegu, and Gyeongbuk; and 5 to 20 mm in Jeju Island.
Fine dust levels are expected to be 'Good' to 'Moderate' nationwide. However, Chungnam and Jeonbuk are forecasted to temporarily reach 'Unhealthy' levels in the morning.
Strong winds and high waves are expected in the southern part of the West Sea, the South Sea, the southern offshore of the East Sea, and the waters off Jeju Island, so vessels navigating these areas should exercise caution.
Wave heights will range from 0.5 to 3.0 meters in the nearshore waters of the East Sea, West Sea, and South Sea.

In the offshore waters (approximately 200 km from the coastline), wave heights are predicted to be 0.5 to 3.0 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 4.0 meters in the West Sea, and 1.0 to 4.0 meters in the South Sea.
