Some Students Involved in School Violence in 'High School Baseball Team' Referred to Prosecution
No Prosecution for 'Pro Baseball Team Manager's Son' Among Two Suspects
Two students who were perpetrators in a school violence incident that occurred in a high school baseball team in the Seoul area have been referred to the prosecution.
According to the police on the 31st, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul recently sent B and C, who are baseball team members of the same school as student A, to the prosecution. They are charged with assaulting student A (special assault, etc.) and making defamatory remarks about A's mother (defamation), respectively.
The son of a current professional baseball team director, who was identified as one of the three perpetrators and caused controversy, was not prosecuted.
Student A, a second-year student at a high school in Seoul, was reported by the media to have been subjected to physical abuse and inhumane verbal violence by three baseball team members of the same grade in May of last year.
However, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, which investigated the incident at the time, notified the director's son’s side in July of last year that it was difficult to recognize it as school violence due to lack of evidence.
