Sunchang Sarang Gift Certificates, Discount Rate and Purchase Limit Expanded for February Only

Before the Lunar New Year holiday, Sunchang-gun, Jeonbuk Province, will temporarily raise the purchase limit of the Sunchang Love Gift Certificate, which plays a significant role in revitalizing the local economy, for the month of February.

The county announced on the 31st that, to recover the weakened consumer sentiment and reduce the economic burden on households during the Lunar New Year peak season, it will expand the purchase limit of the local love gift certificate from the existing 700,000 KRW per month to 1,000,000 KRW per month this year as well, following last year.

Regardless of whether it is paper, mobile, or card type, individuals can purchase up to 1,000,000 KRW per month, which is expected to provide practical help for small business owners struggling with high inflation to stabilize their management.

Additionally, the discount rate will be applied at 15%, an increase of 5% from the previous 10%, but only for mobile and card gift certificates, while the discount rate for paper gift certificates will remain at 10% as before.

To purchase paper gift certificates, they can be bought at 27 locations including local NongHyup Bank, Jeonbuk Bank, Credit Union, and post offices, while mobile and card gift certificates can be purchased through the local love gift certificate ‘chak’ app.

The affiliated stores where paper gift certificates can be used can be checked on the Sunchang-gun website, and mobile gift certificates can be verified through the local love gift certificate ‘chak’ app.

As the purchase limit is expanded, the county plans to strictly monitor purchase and exchange histories through the integrated gift certificate management system and conduct on-site inspections of stores suspected of illegal distribution or excessive exchanges to crack down on fraudulent distribution.

County Governor Choi Young-il said, “With the increased purchase limit of the Sunchang Love Gift Certificate ahead of this Lunar New Year, I hope many people will reduce their economic burden by using the discounted gift certificates,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to revitalize the Sunchang Love Gift Certificate to support citizens and small business owners.”
