Yongin City Implements Price Stabilization Measures Ahead of Seol Holiday
Providing Price Information on Essential Items and Inspecting Origin Labeling
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 31st that it will implement price stabilization measures to reduce the burden on citizens as a sharp rise in prices of essential goods is expected ahead of the Seollal holiday.
The city will set up a comprehensive price stabilization situation room in the Civil Economy Division and deploy price monitoring personnel until the 8th of next month. The monitoring personnel will focus on managing the price trends of 16 key holiday items, including ceremonial goods, vegetables, meat, and fruits, and will provide accurate price information on the city’s website. In addition, a joint price stabilization inspection team will be formed to intensively inspect and crack down on compliance with origin labeling and price display regulations, as well as unfair trade practices.
Meanwhile, to encourage citizens to use traditional markets, the city has decided to allow parking on certain sections of roads around traditional markets for four days from the 9th to the 12th of next month.
