Ministry of the Interior Visits to Request National Treasury Support for Local Allocation Tax and Current Projects
Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province is making every effort to secure national budgets such as local allocation tax.
According to Sancheong-gun on the 31st, on the 25th, Deputy Governor Han Mi-young and responsible officials visited central government ministries.
This visit to the central ministries was arranged to secure funds for 2024 local allocation tax, as well as for current projects and overcoming the crisis of regional extinction.

First, Deputy Governor Han and others visited the Local Allocation Tax Division of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and explained the progress of various projects related to living, safety, agricultural policies, and cultural tourism tailored to local issues despite poor financial conditions.
They also actively requested the maximum increase of the allocation tax as a cornerstone to overcome the crisis of regional extinction. At the meeting with officials from the Fiscal Policy Division of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, they explained the target sites for the 2024 central-local fiscal investment review projects.
During the visit to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, they emphasized the necessity of national subsidy support by explaining the need to promote Sancheong-gun’s major current projects. Sancheong-gun plans to accelerate securing local allocation tax and national budgets based on this visit to the central ministries.

Deputy Governor Han said, “To solve local issues and secure government budgets, it is most effective to directly visit central ministries and frankly discuss the necessity of projects and difficulties in promotion,” adding, “We will continue to visit central ministries for projects that require local issues and national and provincial subsidies, and put more effort into securing budgets.”
