Gwangju Seo-gu 'Apartment Support Project' Promotion

Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) announced on the 26th that it will promote the ‘Apartment Support Project’ to create a safe and pleasant residential environment.

The support targets apartment complexes in Seo-gu that have passed 10 years since the usage inspection date. It covers ▲repair and reinforcement of disaster-risk facilities ▲rooftop waterproofing ▲renovation of resident common-use facilities and improvement projects for workers such as security guards ▲partial costs for managing public facilities such as water and sewage, fire safety, elevators, electricity (LED replacement), main roads within the complex, and auxiliary facility maintenance, with a maximum support of up to 35 million KRW per complex.

However, apartment complexes that have received support within the last 2 years are restricted from applying.

Applications can be submitted by visiting or mailing the relevant documents to the Housing Division of Seo-gu Office from March 4 to 29.

Additionally, complexes selected as excellent apartment management complexes in Seo-gu, those with outstanding food waste reduction, and those with open parking lots will receive incentives such as additional points.

Seo-gu plans to select supported complexes in April after reviewing the on-site survey results, the appropriateness of the support projects, and priorities, followed by deliberation and resolution by the Apartment Support Deliberation Committee.

Yoon Okmin, head of the Housing Division, said, “Through this support project, we will resolve unsafe elements within apartment complexes and continue to do our best to create a safe residential environment.”

Meanwhile, Seo-gu invested 400 million KRW last year to support facility improvements such as rooftop waterproofing, elevators, road repairs within complexes, and replacement of paving blocks in 13 apartment complexes, receiving high praise from residents.
