40-Year-Old Man Wearing Electronic Ankle Bracelet Arrested and Indicted for Sexual Assault
Charges Including Burglary and Rape
The prosecution has arrested and indicted a man in his 40s on charges of sexually assaulting a woman after following her into her home while wearing an electronic ankle bracelet.
On the 26th, the Women's and Children's Crime Investigation Division of the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Im Yu-gyeong) announced that Mr. A was arrested and indicted on charges including home invasion rape under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act.
On the 1st, at around 1:50 PM in Songpa-gu, Seoul, Mr. A followed a woman he had never met to her home, broke the door lock, forcibly entered, committed sexual assault, and then fled. The police tracked his movements using CCTV footage and other evidence, and about three hours after the crime, they urgently arrested Mr. A hiding in a karaoke room in Songpa-gu.

After interviewing the victim, the prosecution requested psychological counseling and financial support for treatment expenses from the Crime Victim Support Center.
