Busan Education Office Conducts Risk Assessment to Prevent Serious Industrial Accidents... Easy and Convenient with QR Code
Selection of 10 Dangerous Tasks, Production of QR Code Stickers
Contributing to Effective Industrial Accident Prevention and Creation of Safe Workplaces
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education's easy risk assessment method designed to prevent serious industrial accidents among field workers is attracting attention.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Ha Yoon-su) produced and distributed ‘easy frequent risk assessment’ stickers using QR codes as a key means to establish a ‘self-regulation prevention system’ for creating a safe workplace.
The ‘risk assessment’ system involves employers and workers jointly identifying hazardous and dangerous factors in the workplace and establishing and implementing improvement measures. When new industrial accidents occur during work, a ‘frequent risk assessment’ must be conducted.
The Busan Office of Education selected 10 types of hazardous tasks mainly performed on site, including ▲heavy lifting work ▲portable ladder work ▲food preparation work.
They created QR code stickers for the standard hazardous and dangerous factors of these tasks to make risk assessment simple and easy to operate. Additionally, they combined the ‘3-level judgment method,’ which classifies risk levels as high, medium, or low, with the ‘checklist method’ that uses a list of hazardous and dangerous factors to enhance accessibility and convenience.
The Metropolitan Office of Education expects that the easy and simple ‘risk assessment’ through QR code stickers will play a significant role in effective industrial accident prevention and the creation of safe workplaces.
