Ganggu-myeon Opori Briquette Sharing and Love Rice Cake Soup Sharing for Neighborly Love
Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, together with the Yeongdeok-gun Comprehensive Volunteer Center, held the ‘Love Warmth Sharing Relay’ event on the 24th in Opori, Ganggu-myeon, combining briquette sharing volunteer work with sharing love rice cake soup as part of the nationwide Warmth Sharing Campaign.

View original imageThis event was planned by Gyeongbuk Province in accordance with local conditions to support the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s intention of overcoming difficulties by helping and comforting each other through the nationwide campaign. Starting from Yecheon-gun on the 17th, 21 cities and counties in the province will carry out the campaign in a relay until the Lunar New Year holiday.
About 50 participants from 10 organizations and groups took part in Yeongdeok-gun’s relay campaign, including County Governor Kim Gwang-yeol, the chairman and members of the Yeongdeok-gun Comprehensive Volunteer Center’s steering committee, the Gyeongbuk Province Comprehensive Volunteer Center, Lee Young-cheol, chairman of the Barugesalgi Movement Yeongdeok-gun Council, Park Il-dong, branch chief of the Yeongdeok-gun Saemaeul Association, Lee Ssang-im, chairwoman of the Korean Red Cross Yeongdeok-gun District Council, Seo Yong-taek, chairman of the National Model Drivers Association Yeongdeok-gun Branch, Kim Myung-jin, leader of the Songari Family Volunteer Group, Oh Dong-hwa, leader of the Refrigerator Please Volunteer Group, Shin Hyun-hoo, leader of the Narae Mentor Volunteer Group, and the Sunrin University GB College Social Service Group.
On the day, participants declared the Love Warmth Sharing Relay and delivered 200 briquettes each to four households in the district through briquette sharing volunteer work. Afterwards, about 200 villagers from Opori, Ganggu-myeon, and volunteers held a love rice cake soup sharing event together, creating a meaningful occasion to share warmth with each other.
After the event, the participating organizations and groups pledged to carry out winter supplies sharing activities targeting 40 households of basic livelihood security recipients and low-income families before the Lunar New Year holiday, successfully concluding the campaign.
