Expanding Age Eligibility for Implant Support to Address Medical Welfare Blind Spots
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will support the cost of implant procedures for medical aid recipients aged 60 to 64.
Currently, medical aid recipients aged 65 and older can receive support for implant and denture procedure costs through national and city funding. However, medical aid recipients aged 60 to 64, who do not meet the age criteria, often postpone dental treatments due to the significant financial burden.
In response, the district has been allocating its own budget since last year to expand the age range eligible for implant support, aiming to eliminate blind spots in medical welfare.
The support covers up to 1 million KRW per person on an actual cost basis, excluding some out-of-pocket expenses, and is provided once.
The eligible recipients are medical aid beneficiaries aged 60 to 64 with a registered address in Gwangjin-gu as of the application date, which this year includes those born between 1960 and 1964.
Applications can be made within 60 days from the procedure completion date, and it is also possible to apply during the procedure to reduce financial burdens through prompt support.
Residents in need of support can apply by visiting their local community service center, and for further details, they can contact the Gwangjin-gu Social Welfare and Disability Division.
