Ministry of SMEs and Startups Supports Inflow of Overseas Talented Professionals into Domestic Startups
Recruitment of Operating Companies for Practical SW Training and Startup Employment Matching for Overseas Workforce
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 22nd that it is recruiting operators to participate in the 2024 'Overseas Workforce Employment Matching Support Project.' The Overseas Workforce Employment Matching Support Project provides practical software (SW) training to outstanding overseas talent from countries such as Vietnam and supports matching them for employment at domestic and locally established startups.
This project is part of the 'Startup Korea Comprehensive Measures' announced in August last year and is being promoted to supply manpower to startups struggling with SW workforce shortages and to globalize the startup ecosystem through international exchange with overseas youth.
In this recruitment, one operator will be selected through document evaluation and presentation evaluation. A project budget of 1.4 billion KRW will be supported for project execution. The selected operator will recruit about 200 local Vietnamese university students and operate a five-month training program tailored to the manpower needs of startups, providing employment matching to domestic and locally established startups.
In particular, considering that the 'Overseas Workforce Employment Matching Support Project' mainly targets local Vietnamese university students, the selection will consider the operator’s capabilities in SW education and employment matching, as well as the status of local infrastructure and network in Vietnam.
