A-Route Enters Power Semiconductor Equipment Market to Diversify Business
"Expecting Revenue Growth with Expansion of AI and Autonomous Driving"
Aeroot, a company specializing in industrial printers, is entering the power semiconductor equipment market to diversify its business.
On the 22nd, Aeroot announced through a public disclosure that it has decided to acquire a 70% stake in NSRC, a semiconductor equipment refurbishing specialist company, for 16.8 billion KRW. As AI and autonomous driving technologies advance, the demand for power semiconductors for effective power control is rapidly increasing. Aeroot expects not only sales growth but also a significant improvement in profitability through this acquisition of NSRC.
Established in 2014, NSRC purchases semiconductor lithography equipment, upgrades it to the level required by customers, and supplies it to global semiconductor companies. NSRC possesses a large number of experts from global semiconductor and IT component companies and has obtained ISO9001 (Quality Management) and ISO14001 (Environmental Management) certifications. Based on its proprietary technology and quality, NSRC has secured a leading position in the domestic lithography equipment refurbishing market.
Lithography equipment directly exposes light onto wafers during the semiconductor lithography process. The lithography process is one of the core semiconductor processes that uses light to engrave circuits onto silicon wafers. As existing lithography machines for power semiconductor production by semiconductor companies become outdated, the demand for refurbishing equipment is increasing. Recently, NSRC signed its largest-ever export contract worth 2.9 million USD for lithography equipment with an overseas semiconductor company.
An Aeroot official stated, "By newly entering the power semiconductor equipment market, which has high growth potential and profitability, the company can generate steady operating profits as well as expand its scale," adding, "We expect Aeroot's profitability to improve significantly through this NSRC acquisition."
