Demolition Progressing Smoothly Divided into A·B Construction Zones... Large-Scale Complex Cultural Facility and More to Be Built
Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced on the 19th that the Noryangjin 6 Redevelopment Promotion Zone (hereinafter Noryangjin 6 District) is currently undergoing building demolition work, aiming to start construction in the second half of this year.
The Noryangjin 6 District redevelopment project is divided into two construction zones, A and B. GS Construction is responsible for Zone A, while SK Ecoplant is in charge of Zone B.
The total number of buildings scheduled for demolition within Noryangjin 6 District (around 302-160 Noryangjin-dong) is 320. Although it is a large-scale project covering 70,000㎡, all buildings are low-rise single-family and multi-family houses with five floors or less, so the demolition work is progressing smoothly.
Zone B began demolition work in November last year and has completed about 70%, while Zone A started this month and all demolition work is expected to be completed by the first half of this year.
Upon completion of the Noryangjin 6 District development, the area will be transformed from an aging low-rise single-family and multi-family dense neighborhood into a premium large complex consisting of 14 buildings with 1,499 households, ranging from four basement floors to 28 above-ground floors, equipped with mixed-use cultural facilities.
In particular, the district will feature a large-scale performance hall with a total floor area of over 13,000㎡ that can accommodate more than 1,000 people, marking the first such facility in Dongjak-gu and establishing itself as a cultural and artistic hub representing the southwestern region.
Since the 8th term of the civilian administration, Dongjak-gu has been promoting the ‘Dongjak-gu-style redevelopment’ project, which drastically shortens redevelopment periods to create high-quality residential areas.
Currently, the northern side of Shindaebang Samgeori (393-66 Daebang-dong) and the area around Namsong Station (61 Sadang-ro 17-gil) have been selected as pilot areas, with plans to finalize the maintenance plan and start construction within this year.

Mayor Park Il-ha of Dongjak-gu emphasized, “We will do our best to complete the demolition work of Noryangjin 6 District without any setbacks so that construction can begin in the second half of this year,” adding, “Including the large-scale performance hall that will become a cultural and artistic hub of Dongjak, we will transform the area into a premium complex that residents can take pride in.”
