Geochang-gun Supports Installation of Food Waste Reduction Devices for Household Use
Installation Cost Subsidy 50% Up to 400,000 KRW
Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is promoting a subsidy support project for those who wish to install food waste reduction devices for household food waste as part of its policy to reduce household food waste.
The food waste generated in the county incurs high processing costs due to the lack of moisture reduction, and in areas excluding the town, it is mixed and disposed of in volume-based waste bags, causing environmental problems in the surrounding area.
Accordingly, Geochang-gun has enacted related ordinances to encourage active participation of residents in reducing food waste and secured a budget of 40 million KRW from the county itself. Applications for support to install household food waste reduction devices will be accepted starting from the 21st.
Support will cover 50% of the purchase amount per household, up to a maximum of 400,000 KRW (one device per household). The support process includes recruiting applicants and selecting recipients, priority purchase with self-payment for the reduction device, and subsidy support.
Applicants must be households registered in Geochang-gun and residing in detached houses or multi-family housing under the Building Act. The eligible reduction devices must be products certified with the K mark, group standards, or environmental labels.
About 100 devices will be supported on a first-come, first-served basis within the budget. To apply, applicants must bring the application form and required documents and visit the Environmental Division of Geochang-gun Office.
