The Public Procurement Service announced on the 17th that it held a 75th anniversary ceremony at the Government Daejeon Complex.
At the ceremony, Lim Gi-geun, Administrator of the Public Procurement Service, awarded certificates of commendation and merit medals to 40 outstanding public officials, employees with distinguished service, and long-term employees.

View original imageThe Public Procurement Service was established in 1949 as a temporary Foreign Exchange Bureau under the Prime Minister to efficiently manage aid materials, later becoming the Foreign Exchange Agency in 1955, and finally taking its current organizational form in 1961.
As of last year, the scale of procurement projects reached approximately 86 trillion won, an increase of 7,400 times compared to 11.6 billion won in 1961.
Administrator Lim said, “Over the past 75 years, the Public Procurement Service has grown alongside the national economic growth and has become a public procurement policy executor with a scale of 200 trillion won. Based on the foundation built over the past 75 years, we will boldly advance toward the path of the second establishment.”
