Park Ji-young, Vice President of Seoul Sports Council, Appointed as Chairman of Sports Ethics Center
"Ensuring Fairness in Sports Based on Experience and Expertise"
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 17th that Park Ji-young has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Sports Ethics Center. The term is three years, until January 2027.
Chairperson Park is a first-generation athlete in domestic artistic swimming (synchronized swimming). She graduated from the Department of Physical Education at Ewha Womans University, earned a master's degree in Political Science and Diplomacy from Yonsei University, and obtained a doctorate in Physical Education from Korea National Sport University. After retiring as an athlete, she worked as a referee and administrator in the domestic and international sports community. She has served as a member of the Women's Sports Committee of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, an international judge for artistic swimming at the International Swimming Federation, vice president of the Korea Swimming Federation, vice president of the Korean Women’s Sports Association, a member of the Seoul Metropolitan Sports Promotion Council, and vice president of the Seoul Sports Council.

Minister Yoo In-chon said, "The Sports Ethics Center is an important institution established to protect athletes from human rights violations and corruption in the sports world," and added, "I hope the new chairperson will excellently fulfill the role of ensuring fairness in sports and protecting the human rights of athletes based on her experience and expertise as an athlete and sports administrator."
