Jindo-gun Saves 2.647 Billion KRW Budget Through Operation of Contract Review System in 8th Elected Term
Contract Review of 173 Cases Worth 90.431 Billion KRW Last Year, Budget Savings of 1.66 Billion KRW
Jindo County in Jeollanam-do saved 1.66 billion KRW in budget by conducting contract reviews for projects commissioned last year.
According to the county on the 15th, the contract review system involves a preliminary examination and review of potential budget waste factors such as △project commissioning △basic amount before design changes △increase or decrease in design change amounts △appropriateness of construction methods for projects commissioned by the county, including construction projects over 100 million KRW, service contracts over 50 million KRW, and manufacturing or purchasing of goods over 20 million KRW.
The county operates the contract review system to enhance the transparency and soundness of local financial management, achieving a total budget saving of 2.647 billion KRW since the 8th local government administration.
Over the past year, through contract reviews of 173 cases amounting to 90.431 billion KRW, including 136 cases of construction and design changes and 37 cases of services and goods, a total of 1.66 billion KRW was saved.
A county official stated, “In 2024, we will continue to strive to improve the efficiency of county financial management through prompt and rational contract reviews, as well as enhance project quality and prevent poor construction.”
