Gwanak-gu Produces 'Housing Tenant Protection Guide for Youth'
Creation and Distribution of Leaflets for Jeonse Fraud Prevention and Tenant Damage Support
Guidance on Types of Jeonse Fraud and Precautions for Jeonse and Monthly Rent Contracts
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) has taken proactive measures to prevent the rapid increase in jeonse fraud cases, such as the canned jeonse and villa king incidents.
The district office has produced a leaflet titled "Tenant Protection Guide for Youth to Know," containing various information including preventive measures against jeonse fraud and support services related to recent jeonse damage cases.
The booklet-style leaflet clearly presents ▲ Jeonse and monthly rent safe contract assistance services ▲ Preventive measures by type of jeonse damage ▲ Precautions when signing a jeonse contract ▲ Jeonse damage support center information ▲ Checklist for jeonse contracts ▲ Reduction of brokerage fees for young tenants, among other contents.
Additionally, QR codes are included in each section to allow easy access to real estate information through platforms such as Seumter and the actual transaction price disclosure system, making it more convenient to check real estate data.
The guide leaflet will be distributed to public institutions such as Gwanak Youth Center, Sillim-dong Three-Room, Seoul National University, Gwanak S Valley, which are frequently used by youth, as well as 25 community service centers in the district.
The district expects that the guidebook will greatly help protect the rights of young tenants who are vulnerable to jeonse fraud due to a lack of real estate transaction knowledge and contract experience.
Meanwhile, the district operates the "Gwanak-gu Jeonse Damage Support Center" on the 6th floor of the annex building of the district office, providing one-stop services including jeonse fraud damage reception, legal consultation, housing support, and psychological counseling for victims struggling with jeonse fraud.
Residents wishing to report damage should visit the center with identification, contracts, and a statement of the damage.
