‘Gumi-type TIPTOP Top-level Startup Nurturing’ … Up to 200 Million KRW Support
Unicorn Startup Emergence, Full-Cycle Support from Research to Overseas Expansion
Gumi City and Gumi Electronics and Information Technology Institute (Director Woo Byung-gu) are officially launching the ‘Gumi-style TipTop Startup Development Project’ to discover and attract technology innovation startups and support their growth into global unicorn companies.
This project is an independent startup support platform by Gumi City that supports the entire cycle from dedicated research for commercialization to entry into overseas markets, enabling startups with innovative technologies to grow rapidly, providing up to 200 million KRW per company.
The operating organization, Gumi Electronics and Information Technology Institute, conducted a preliminary demand survey targeting startups nationwide, resulting in 306 companies applying (119 Gumi companies, 187 companies planning to relocate to Gumi), showing nationwide interest and enthusiastic response.
Any startup less than 7 years old with innovative technology of high future value can apply, and after final selection, the company must relocate its headquarters to Gumi and at least 70% of its affiliated employees (including the CEO) must move to Gumi.
