Opposition Announces 89 Eligible Preliminary Candidates for General Election Including Lee Jae-myung
Im Jong-seok, Noh Young-min, Jeon Hyun-hee, and Others Also 'Qualified'
The Democratic Party of Korea announced on the 11th the list of 89 candidates who passed the verification by the Central Party Public Office Election Candidate Verification Committee, including leader Lee Jae-myung.
According to the announcement by the Democratic Party Public Office Election Candidate Verification Committee (Verification Committee), Leader Lee applied for the verification review in his current constituency, Incheon Gyeyang-eul, and passed.
Included in the list were former and current leadership members such as Secretary-General Cho Jung-sik, former floor leader Park Hong-geun, Supreme Council members Ko Min-jung and Jang Kyung-tae, as well as incumbent lawmakers Park Ju-min, Jin Sung-jun, Lee Hae-sik, Jeon Jae-soo, Kim Yoon-duk, Kim Byung-gi, Kim Young-jin, Kang Hoon-sik, Jeong Tae-ho, and Kim Han-gyu.
Former Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission Chairperson Jeon Hyun-hee completed verification in Jongno, Seoul; former Presidential Secretary Im Jong-seok passed in his former constituency, Jung-gu Seongdong-gu Gap, Seoul; and former Chief of Staff Noh Young-min passed in Sangdang-gu, Cheongju, Chungbuk.
