Changwon Fire Headquarters, Average of 240.1 Dispatches per Day Last Year... 1.6 Cases Every 10 Minutes
The Changwon Fire Headquarters in Gyeongnam announced on the 9th the statistical analysis results of fire, rescue, emergency medical, and life safety firefighting activities in Changwon City last year.
According to the statistical data, there was an average of 240.1 dispatches per day last year, which corresponds to 1.6 dispatches every 10 minutes.
By type, there were 558 fire incidents, 20,247 rescues, 57,053 emergency medical dispatches, and 9,795 life safety dispatches.
Looking at the fire dispatch analysis, there were 558 fire incidents last year, a decrease of 45 cases (7.5%) compared to the previous year. However, casualties increased by 15 people (51.7%) from 44 last year (3 deaths, 41 injuries), and property damage amounted to 18.83639 billion KRW, showing an increase of 206.3% compared to the previous year.
The causes of fires were highest due to carelessness with 179 cases, followed by electrical factors with 171 cases, and unknown causes with 99 cases.
Rescue dispatches decreased by 303 cases (1.4%) compared to the previous year, and the number of rescued people was 1,659, a decrease of 18 people (1.0%) from the previous year. Life safety dispatches decreased by 1,514 cases (13.3%), with beehive removal dispatches being the most frequent.
Emergency medical dispatches decreased by 603 cases (1.0%), and the number of transported patients was 31,119, a decrease of 284 people (0.9%) compared to the previous year.
