Handonghun Visits Guinsa, the Head Temple of Cheontae Order, a Place Where President Yoon Drew Strength During Difficult Times
Han Dong-hoon, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, visited Guinsa, the head temple of the Cheontae Order, located in Danyang-gun, Chungbuk, on the 9th. Guinsa is known as the place President Yoon Seok-yeol visited after losing the by-election for the Mayor of Gangseo District, Seoul, and it is said that he "gained strength during difficult times." Since his inauguration as the Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party on the 26th of last month, Han has been traveling across the country daily to target local votes, and this visit appears to be a brief pause.
On this day, Chairman Han had a tea conversation with Monk Deok-su, the General Secretary of the Cheontae Order, at Guinsa. He then attended the Buddha's Birthday celebration ceremony held at Gwangmyeongjeon Hall to commemorate the 112th anniversary of the birth of Sangwol Wongak Daejosa, the founder of Guinsa.
This schedule marks the second religious event Chairman Han has attended since his inauguration, following his visit to Myeongdong Cathedral of the Catholic Church on the 29th of last month. Previously, Han visited Myeongdong Cathedral to pay respects to the late senior Catholic priest, Monsignor Jeong Ui-chae (baptismal name: Paul).

Guinsa is especially notable as a place President Yoon visited twice during his presidential campaign and again in October last year after his inauguration. When President Yoon visited last year, it was after the ruling party suffered a crushing defeat in the Gangseo District Mayor by-election. President Yoon then stated, "I will reflect and communicate."
Chairman Han's visit on this day is interpreted as a moment to catch his breath and accelerate the ruling party's unity ahead of the general election. In fact, the visit was conducted in a relatively calm atmosphere compared to his previous visits across the country for New Year's greetings. Earlier, Chairman Han appealed for the People Power Party's victory in the general election while touring regions including Daejeon and Daegu starting on the 2nd, as well as Gwangju, Chungbuk, Gyeonggi, and Gangwon.
