A man in his 30s was arrested by the police for stabbing his mother with a weapon after she scolded him for smoking in the bathroom at their home.
On the 8th, the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul announced that they had requested an arrest warrant for a 30-year-old Chinese man, Mr. A, on charges of attempted matricide after stabbing his mother once with a weapon.
According to the police, Mr. A is accused of smoking in the bathroom of his home in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, on the 6th, and after his mother scolded him, he assaulted her multiple times and stabbed her once with a weapon.
The mother, who sustained injuries to her neck, reportedly fled to a nearby commercial area and, with the help of a shopkeeper, reported the incident to the police.
Mr. A was caught by the police about 10 minutes after the crime while still in the bathroom of his home. It is known that Mr. A has suffered from a long-term mental illness.
