Gochang-gun Supports 'Agricultural Residue Shredding Operations' Until April
Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 5th that it will support the crushing of agricultural by-products until April.
The targets for crushing are agricultural by-products such as pruned branches from fruit trees, bokbunja (Korean black raspberry), chili peppers, and sesame, with the support team visiting the sites directly to carry out the crushing work.

Additionally, by thoroughly drying by-products such as fruit tree trunks, chili stalks, and sesame stalks, then crushing and either rotary tilling them into the soil or using them as compost, soil fertility can be improved.
In particular, the project focuses on plots within 100 meters of forest-adjacent areas, which is expected to help prevent forest fires and reduce fine dust.
The Gochang Agricultural Technology Center plans to hire six temporary workers and purchase two additional power shredders to support the crushing operations.
Currently, the county owns a total of 21 shredders across four agricultural machinery rental centers by region, and offers free rental and delivery for village-level joint crushing operations.
An official from the Agricultural Technology Center said, “Since crushing agricultural by-products prevents illegal burning and promotes eco-friendly composting, which greatly helps reduce fine dust, we will actively support farmers to ensure they do not face difficulties in disposing of agricultural by-products.”
Those wishing to have their agricultural by-products crushed can apply by the 19th at the Agricultural Technology Center (Agricultural Machinery Support Team) or at the eup/myeon offices (Industrial Economy Team).
