In his inaugural speech, President Kim stated, “The Korean Civil Law Association has not only led the development of civil law since its enactment but also played a crucial role in the amendment of civil law and the establishment of special civil laws. This year, we will reorganize the Civil Law Amendment Review Committee and deepen research on civil law amendments to make a substantial contribution to the revision of civil law.”
He continued, “The association holds four regular academic conferences and four case study meetings annually. Starting this year, we plan to broaden exchanges with foreign civil law academia by rehosting the ‘East Asian International Civil Law Conference’ together with the civil law associations of major East Asian jurisdictions: the Republic of Korea, China, Japan, and Taiwan. We are also planning academic events that facilitate interaction and communication between academia and practitioners,” he added.
