Jungnang-gu Establishes Itself as a 'Clean City' Trusted by Residents
Achieving Top Rankings in the Comprehensive Integrity Evaluation by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission
Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) achieved a remarkable feat by ranking among the top districts in Seoul in the 2023 Comprehensive Integrity Evaluation, establishing itself as a transparent city that communicates with and is trusted by its residents.
The results of the '2023 Public Institution Comprehensive Integrity Evaluation,' conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission targeting 498 public institutions nationwide, were released on the 28th. Among Seoul's autonomous districts, three districts received Grade 1, six districts Grade 2, thirteen districts Grade 3, and three districts Grade 4.
Jungnang-gu achieved Grade 2, placing it among the top ranks of Seoul's 25 autonomous districts. Notably, it recorded excellent scores in both integrity efforts and perceived integrity, making the achievement even more meaningful.
This year's comprehensive integrity evaluation was conducted by comprehensively assessing ▲'Integrity Perception,' which surveys corruption awareness and experiences of the general public and internal employees, ▲'Integrity Efforts,' which evaluates the institution's efforts to establish an anti-corruption system over the past year, and ▲'Corruption Status Evaluation,' categorizing the results into five overall grades.
This announcement reflects the fruits of Jungnang-gu's various integrity policies and the consistent efforts of all employees throughout the year to spread a culture of integrity across the public sector.
The district expressed a strong commitment to creating an honest city this year, working internally to foster a sound and transparent workplace culture and externally to strengthen communication by listening to residents' voices.
First, the district implemented various integrity policies such as ▲Integrity pledge ceremonies for executives at grade 5 and above ▲Visiting integrity communication rooms ▲Integrity education for new public officials ▲Integrity slogan contests ▲Integrity pop-up education sessions.
Additionally, the district mayor personally held over 200 Jungnang Masil meetings with residents and made efforts to improve resident satisfaction with civil service, playing a significant role in building a transparent organizational culture through strengthened communication with residents, which contributed greatly to this evaluation.
