Korea Ceramic Foundation Recycles Event Scrap Wood into 'Children's Playground'... Saves 10 Tons of Carbon Emissions
The Korea Ceramic Foundation recycled waste wood used in various events this year to create a children's playground at the Gyeonggi Ceramic Museum complex, achieving a carbon emission reduction effect of 10 tons.
The Korea Ceramic Foundation was selected for the Gyeonggi Social Economy Center's '2023 Social and Environmental Problem Solving Support Project' and recycled 6 tons of waste wood used in various exhibitions and events such as the social economy organization 'Eorininalda Social Cooperative' and the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation's 'Gyeonggi Culture and Arts Education Week' festival to build a children's playground on the 10th.
Subsequently, after requesting the Korea Forest Service to analyze the carbon reduction effect, it was found that recycling this waste wood instead of incineration resulted in a carbon reduction effect of 10 tons.
Choi Moon-hwan, CEO of the Korea Ceramic Foundation, emphasized, "The complex social and environmental issues we face now require cooperation among the public, private, and government sectors to solve," adding, "We will continue to take the lead for a sustainable future by expanding environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management."
