Yeongdeok-gun Completes 'Doctor Helicopter' Landing Pad... Leap Forward in Medical Welfare
Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk, completed the construction of a doctor helicopter landing pad on the 15th and held a completion ceremony on the 28th, raising expectations for improving underserved local healthcare and strengthening the emergency medical system.
The construction of the emergency medical doctor helicopter landing pad was a campaign pledge of Kim Gwang-yeol, the mayor of Yeongdeok-gun during the 8th local government term. It is located in the parking lot of Yeonghae Sports Park, just one minute away from Yeongdeok Asan Hospital, the regional medical center, and is considered the optimal choice considering ambulance vehicle access and helicopter patient transport.
With this, Yeongdeok-gun will be able to respond more swiftly and effectively to time-critical emergency medical situations, protecting the lives of emergency patients within the jurisdiction. In cases where urgent transport is needed, patients can be quickly transferred to Andong Hospital, which has a regional trauma center, within 18 minutes, greatly improving medical accessibility in the region.
