President Yoon's Criticism Prompts Ministry of National Defense to "Recall All Mental Education Materials"
"Writing Process Appreciation Scheduled"
The Ministry of National Defense has decided to recall all copies of the basic mental education textbook for soldiers recently published. This follows President Yoon Seok-yeol reprimanding the Ministry for describing Dokdo, our territory, as a 'territorial dispute area.'
On the 28th, the Ministry of National Defense stated, "The Ministry published and distributed the basic mental strength textbook for soldiers for the first time in five years to enhance soldiers' mental strength, but significant issues were found in the expressions, such as the territorial dispute over Dokdo and the omission of Dokdo. Therefore, all copies will be recalled, and the writing process will be audited."
Meanwhile, spokesperson Kim Soo-kyung said in a written briefing that "President Yoon was informed that the Ministry of National Defense recently published mental education materials for soldiers that described Dokdo, which is the territory of the Republic of Korea, as if it were a territorial dispute area. He strongly reprimanded this as something that should never happen and instructed strict measures, including immediate correction."
