Gwangju Buk-gu Council Demands Immediate Abolition of "Jeollado Millennium History"
The Buk-gu Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City has called for the abolition of the 'Jeollado Millennium History,' which is causing controversy over historical distortion.
On the 27th, the Buk-gu council members issued a statement in the council plenary session, saying, "Despite strong opposition from civic groups, historical organizations, and political circles, the three provinces of Gwangju, Jeonnam, and Jeonbuk, along with the compilation committee, still insist on publishing the book."
They urged, "The Jeollado Millennium History should be abolished independently, and the local governments responsible for the project must announce an official position and future plans."
They emphasized, "The compilation committee, which has not obtained procedural legitimacy, must also deeply reflect on its responsibility for the conflict and offer a sincere apology to the residents, who are the historical subjects."
