Jeon Seung-il, Gwangju Seo-gu Council Member, Receives Plaque of Appreciation from Korea Association of Persons with Physical Disabilities
Jeon Seung-il, a member of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Seo-gu Council, received a plaque of appreciation on the 27th at the '2023 Disabled Persons and Citizens Festival' hosted by the Korea Disabled Persons Association.
Councilor Jeon was recognized for his efforts to improve the rights and interests of local disabled people, including enacting the nation's first ordinance on "Shared Use of Vehicles Equipped with Wheelchair Boarding Facilities for Mobility-Impaired Persons."
Councilor Jeon said, "I only did what was naturally required, such as enacting ordinances for disabled people in Seo-gu and conducting field-centered legislative activities to listen to the realities and voices of disabled people, so I feel both joy and a heavy heart upon receiving this plaque of appreciation," adding, "I will carry out more on-the-ground legislative activities with a sense of responsibility to improve welfare for disabled people in Seo-gu."
