Mokpo Coast Guard Finds Capsized Boat Captain in Cardiac Arrest near Anmado, Yeonggwang
Found Inside the Accident Vessel Through Underwater Search Operation
Off the coast near Anmado, Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do, a fishing boat capsizing accident occurred, and while 5 crew members were rescued, the coast guard additionally found 1 crew member (the captain) in a state of cardiac arrest.
According to the coast guard, during an underwater search of the capsized vessel A (9.77 tons, coastal trap, registered in Goheung, with 6 crew members), at around 1:45 PM today, one crew member (the captain, in his 50s) was found in a state of cardiac arrest inside the vessel and was transported to a patrol ship.
Earlier, 5 people (2 Koreans, 3 foreigners) who were rescued by a nearby vessel were confirmed to have been moved to the patrol ship and were receiving emergency treatment (complaining of hypothermia).

The coast guard plans to investigate the exact cause of the accident and, based on the boarding records of vessel A (5 crew members) and the actual number of people on board (total 6), will investigate any illegal activities.
