5 Crew Members Rescued from Capsized Fishing Vessel Near Anmado, Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do
Focusing Rescue Capabilities to Minimize Damage Including Additional Life-Saving Efforts
Mokpo Maritime Police Station (Chief Kim Hae-cheol) responded to a fishing boat capsizing accident near Anmado, Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do, where 5 crew members were rescued, and the coast guard is conducting additional search and rescue operations.
On the 27th at around 11:25 AM, the coast guard received a report that fishing boat A (9.77 tons, coastal trap, registered in Goheung) capsized about 10 km northwest off Anmado, Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do, and dispatched patrol vessels and rescue teams to the scene.
According to the coast guard, at around 11:54 AM, five crew members of the capsized fishing boat A were rescued by vessel B, which had received a support request near the accident site. The rescued five are currently reported to be suffering from hypothermia.
