Encouraging Employees at the Meeting of Department and Division Heads
Park Wan-su, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, expressed his gratitude to the staff for their efforts while mentioning the achievements of the provincial administration this year at the heads of departments and bureaus meeting held on the 26th.
Governor Park said, “We have achieved various significant accomplishments while managing the provincial administration this year,” and added, “Gyeongnam marked this year as the first year of a new leap forward, making it a meaningful year to start a new advancement in economic indicators and performance.”

Governor Park stated, “The results achieved through the sweat and efforts of the provincial government employees contribute to the development of Gyeongnam and the happiness of its residents, so they can take pride in this,” and said, “Even if there were shortcomings, we worked harder than ever and produced many good results.”
He continued, “In the coming new year, there will be not only hopes and expectations for the provincial administration but also personal aspirations of the employees,” and said, “Employees need to be happy and healthy to positively influence the residents, so I hope it will be a year in which they can achieve everything they desire.”
This year, Gyeongnam Province is leading the national economy by achieving rebounds in various economic indicators, supported by the boom in key industries such as defense and nuclear power.
Since turning the trade balance into a surplus in October last year, the province has maintained a surplus for 14 consecutive months through this year, and the export growth rate ranked first nationwide until last month.
The employment rate reached an all-time high of 63.5%, and the unemployment rate recorded an all-time low of 1.2%, rewriting the employment indicators within the province.
Investment attraction exceeded 6.5 trillion won last year, and as of the end of November this year, it achieved 9.01 trillion won in investment attraction, laying the foundation for startup support functions through the promotion of three major regional startup hubs.

In November, the Gyeongnam Happiness Keepers Group, consisting of about 34,000 frontline workers such as postal workers and meter readers, was launched to establish a safety net in welfare blind spots, and by operating disaster safety control towers and emergency medical control towers, it is playing a vital role in protecting the safety of residents.
In September, five Gaya Tumuli clusters in Gyeongnam were registered as UNESCO World Heritage sites, and efforts were made to revitalize the tourism industry, including securing the government’s southern regional wide-area tourism development plan, which involves an investment of 1.1 trillion won in Gyeongnam.
October 4th was designated as Gyeongnam Residents’ Day and newly commemorated, and monthly residents’ meetings were regularized to expand the foundation for residents’ participation in policies.
Gyeongnam Province secured 9.4079 trillion won in national funds for next year, opening the era of over 9 trillion won in national funds for the first time in history.
