Chosun University Teaching and Learning Support Center Operates Customized Course Design Consulting
Chosun University recently conducted a 'Customized Course Design Consulting' program through the e-Learning Support Team of the Teaching and Learning Support Center.
The 'Customized Course Design Consulting' program operates by identifying the difficulties faced by consultees during their classes and the issues they wish to consult about at the application stage, then forming teams of consultees with similar concerns to find solutions to class-related problems together.
This program has been in operation since 2020, and in 2023, it provided course design consulting to a total of 16 instructors.
The consultees participating in this course design consulting had concerns regarding student engagement, classes with varying student proficiency levels, assessment strategies, and motivation for learning. They engaged in lively discussions by sharing difficulties encountered in their class management and exchanging successful experiences within their teams.
Professor Minseong Kim (Department of Education), who served as the lead consultant, introduced cases of objectifying class attitude and participation scores to motivate learning and utilizing gamification. For classes with significant differences in student proficiency levels, he shared strategies such as conducting frequent formative assessments on learned content.
