Opposition Predicts Forcing 'Kim Geon-hee Special Prosecutor'... Hong Ik-pyo Asks, "Will the Public Reject It?"
Democratic Party Plans to Force Dual Special Investigation Bill in Plenary Session on 28th
"Ruling Party, Listen to the People's Voice Before Veto Threat"
Hong Ik-pyo, floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, targeted Han Dong-hoon, the nominated Emergency Response Committee Chair of the People Power Party, urging acceptance of the 'Kim Geon-hee Special Prosecutor' and reaffirmed his determination to forcibly pass the 'Double Special Prosecutor Act' at the plenary session on the 28th.
At the floor strategy meeting held at the National Assembly on the morning of the 26th, Floor Leader Hong said, "Before even taking office, Han Dong-hoon mentioned the toxic clauses of the Kim Geon-hee Special Prosecutor Act, claiming there are serious flaws in the special prosecutor law and called it a 'bad law.'" He added, "Han Dong-hoon's stance on the special prosecutor law will be an important barometer determining the fate of the People Power Party's Emergency Response Committee."

That is the beginning of innovation."
Recalling past remarks by the nominated Emergency Response Committee Chair Han Dong-hoon, he said, "As he said during his time as a prosecutor and Minister of Justice, 'If there is a crime and an act related to that crime, investigation should be conducted anytime and anywhere,' which is the common sense of the people," and reiterated, "The special prosecutor law has been designated as a fast-track bill and cannot be postponed from being processed at the plenary session on the 28th."
He stated, "The Democratic Party will approach flexibly but will not compromise on principles," and added, "We will operate the floor with the 'principle' of handling the special prosecutor separately, the special law separately, and livelihood bills separately." He further said, "Since there is a stern demand from the people, we will not treat each 'bill as a linked subject' for compromise or negotiation."
