Expansion of Safety Support Project Scale
Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Jun-seok) has established the ‘2024 Safety Management Responsibility Plan’ to protect workers and safeguard the lives and safety of the public using Busan Port.
BPA has set the 2024 safety management goal as ‘Zero worker fatalities’ and plans to implement 12 detailed tasks across four areas: workplaces, construction sites, facilities, and others.
In particular, the safety budget has been increased by approximately 700 million KRW from this year to 42.2 billion KRW to expand safety support projects for partner companies. BPA will also strengthen its safety and health management by promoting safety activities aligned with the government’s roadmap for reducing major accidents.
Kang Jun-seok, President of BPA, stated, “In 2023, we were able to achieve zero worker fatalities through systematic safety activities. In 2024, we will continue to prioritize safety and health as the top management value and strive to create a safe BPA and a safe Busan Port.”
