Ulleung-gun Agricultural Technology Center Awarded 'Excellent Institution' for Gyeongbuk Research Cooperation
Ulleung-gun Agricultural Technology Center (Director Park Sang-yong) won the Excellence Award as a research cooperation institution in Gyeongbuk Province.
On the 26th, Ulleung-gun announced that it received the Excellent Institution Award in the research cooperation institution category from the Governor of Gyeongbuk Province at the '2023 Agricultural Research Achievement Sharing Conference' held at the Gyeongbuk Agricultural Technology Institute on the 22nd.
This Agricultural Research Achievement Sharing Conference evaluated major agricultural technology development achievements developed by agricultural technology centers in 22 cities and counties for the successful great transformation of Gyeongbuk agriculture (17 K-food developments, 4 collaborative technology developments, 13 promising export and consumption varieties, and 64 field practical technology developments).
The Ulleung-gun Agricultural Technology Center was highly evaluated for contributing to the establishment of an industrialization foundation through cooperation by jointly applying for patents with the Gyeongbuk Agricultural Technology Institute for ‘Mogwa Wine’ and ‘Dried Block of Water Thistle Hangover Soup Ready Meal’ developed in the K-food development field.
In addition, it was recognized for its achievements in developing 10 prototypes including Mogwa Wine using Ulleung-gun agricultural products, and for patent applications for 4 products including Mogwa Wine.

Nam Han-kwon, the county governor, said, “To enhance the competitiveness of Ulleung agriculture, aiming for the 6th industrialization of agriculture by integrating the primary industry of agriculture with the secondary processing industry and the tertiary service industry is the first step to creating new revenue models and jobs that can increase added value.” He added, “We will expand and disseminate rural support projects such as agricultural food processing through the Agricultural Product Processing Support Center.”
