On the 26th, an online community post titled 'Recent status of a middle school playground in Sejong City covered with snow' along with photos has been spreading. The author of the post said, "This drawing was made on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day," and added, "I don't know who drew it, but it's amazing. Let's enjoy it together."
The released photos, two in total, were taken from a nearby high-rise apartment overlooking the playground of a middle school in Eojin-dong, Sejong City. One of the photos, drawn on the 24th, shows a simple Christmas tree drawing on the playground with the words 'Merry Christmas 2023' written alongside it. The author stated, "It is located where apartment residents can see it when they wake up in the morning and open their curtains."
The other photo features a huge dragon drawing symbolizing the 'Gapjin Year' (甲辰年) of the Blue Dragon in 2024, with the words 'HAPPY NEW YEAR 2024' written alongside it. Below the high-quality drawing, the characters 'Myogeumdo' (卯金刀) are written, drawing attention to the identity of the artist.
Netizens left comments such as "What a diligent person who made this artwork from early morning," "I want to pay for seeing this drawing," and "It’s romantic." Some also responded, "I heard sad accident news yesterday, but seeing this drawing is comforting." It is reported that the drawing was created by folk painting artist Yoo Ki-jun.
On the afternoon of the 24th, a joint investigation team consisting of the police, the National Forensic Service, and the Korea Electrical Safety Corporation inspected the distribution box of a bathhouse in Jochiwon-eup, Sejong.

The bathhouse building was approved for use in December 1984, 39 years ago, and reportedly received a 'no abnormalities' result in a safety inspection by the Korea Electrical Safety Corporation in June. The first joint inspection by police and fire authorities on the 24th found no signs of cut wires. Authorities plan to conduct a second inspection starting at 10:30 a.m. on the 26th to determine the cause of the electric leakage.
