Newly Designated Safe Village in Alleyways of Sangbong-dong, Jungnang-gu
Completed Maintenance of New Road Marker, Logojector Installation, and Emergency Bell Signage in Sangbong-dong Alley Safe Village, Jungnang-gu... Designated as a Police Intensive Patrol Zone for Safe Village
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) has newly established a Safe Village in the alleyways of Sangbong-dong.
The district is focusing on creating a safe urban environment to protect residents from indiscriminate crimes and other dangers. The Safe Village project is one such effort, involving the maintenance of dark alleyways to make road markers and emergency bell signs more visible.
A working group composed of the Cooperation and Collaboration Officer and local residents conducted on-site monitoring and ultimately selected parts of the Sangbong-dong alleyways as the new Safe Village.
The district invested a total budget of 100 million KRW to further enhance safety in 13 Safe Village locations, including the newly selected area. They installed road markers and anti-illegal advertisement sheets, and set up logo projectors that illuminate crime prevention messages on dark paths to brighten them. Additionally, new designs for pavement markings were introduced to help create a safer urban environment.
Responding to residents’ feedback that emergency bell signs were too small to clearly identify their locations, the signs were redesigned for easy recognition at a glance. The current location is also indicated to enable quick response in emergencies, helping residents accurately identify their position and report incidents if necessary.
The district also expects improvements in issues such as illegal parking and illegal dumping through these measures. Furthermore, areas designated as Safe Villages are also assigned as police intensive patrol zones for more focused safety management.
