Secured 4 Aramco Projects Over 3 Years... Leading the Middle East Plant Industry
[K-Construction, New Challenge] Hyundai Engineering
Won the 2021 Jipura Gas Treatment Facility Contract
Also Secured the Jipura2 Facility This October
Hyundai Engineering is leading the plant industry in the Middle East region through a partnership with Saudi Arabia's national oil company, Aramco. Since establishing their first connection with Aramco through the 'Saudi Jafurah Gas Processing Facility Project (Phase-1)' in 2021, Hyundai Engineering has secured four projects from Aramco. This success is backed by Hyundai Engineering's extensive overseas plant execution experience, know-how, and technical capabilities.

In October, Hyundai Engineering, in a joint venture (JV) with Hyundai Construction, succeeded in winning the ultra-large gas processing plant project 'Saudi Jafurah 2 Gas Processing Facility Project Package (Pkg) 2' worth approximately KRW 3.24 trillion, commissioned by Aramco.
This project involves constructing additional facilities such as Gas Processing Facilities for gas produced from the Jafurah gas field and Sulfur Recovery Units. The Hyundai Engineering JV is responsible for the Sulfur Recovery Units package and utility infrastructure (Utility & Offsite).

Hyundai Engineering and Hyundai Construction leveraged their successful experience completing the KRW 3.6 trillion 'Kuwait Al-Zour LNG Import Terminal Project' in Kuwait, another Middle Eastern country, along with their technical expertise, to secure the KRW 2 trillion Saudi Jafurah Gas Processing Facility Project.
In February of this year, Hyundai Engineering, as the lead contractor with Hyundai Construction, won the 'Shahin Petrochemical Project,' the largest project Aramco has invested in Korea, demonstrating a strong business partnership with Aramco.
The 'Shahin Petrochemical Project Package 1&2,' valued at KRW 9.2 trillion, is an ultra-large project to build high value-added petrochemical product production facilities, with completion targeted for 2026. Upon completion, it will produce 1.8 million tons of ethylene and 750,000 tons of propylene annually.
The partnership with Aramco also shone earlier this year in June. Hyundai Engineering, together with Hyundai Construction, succeeded in winning the approximately KRW 6.7 trillion 'Amiral Petrochemical Project Package 1 and 4' commissioned by Aramco, and is pursuing joint execution. This is the largest single project ever won by a Korean company in Saudi Arabia. From Jafurah 1 to Shahin and Amiral, this reflects Aramco's high level of business trust in Hyundai Engineering's joint ventures (JV).
