Yongsan-gu Produces and Distributes 5,000 Copies of Safety Welfare Calendar to Assist in Crisis Situations
Distribution to Social Security Benefit Recipients
Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) is producing 5,000 copies of the ‘2024 Yongsan Safety Welfare Calendar’ and will sequentially distribute them to social security benefit recipients at the community service centers.
The calendar is designed to prominently display services that can be requested in crisis situations prone to solitary deaths, such as Welfare Call Center 129, Health Risk 119, and Crime Risk 112. This reflects the reality of a sharp increase in single-person households among welfare recipient families.
The wall-hanging calendar starts with ‘The right of Yongsan residents to apply for benefits’ and provides information on the 2024 customized welfare benefit criteria, medical support systems such as emergency medical expenses and hospital accompaniment services, and smart welfare administration combining IT technology and care, including AI check-in services, smart plugs, and IoT safety management services.
In July and August, the calendar includes summer seasonal content such as food poisoning prevention, heatwave action guidelines, and the use of cooling shelters. September, which includes ‘Dementia Overcoming Day,’ highlights the Dementia Safety Center, and October, which includes ‘Senior Citizens Day,’ features elderly customized welfare projects such as long-term care services. It also provides an overall welfare benefit schedule, such as livelihood and housing benefits on the 20th of each month and basic pension on the 25th of each month, so that no separate inquiries are necessary.
