Handonghun Leads with 34.3% Support
Party Support: People Power 38.1%, Democratic Party 45.7%, Independents 12.2%
A public opinion poll released on the 24th showed that Han Dong-hoon, who was nominated as the Emergency Committee Chairman of the People Power Party on the 21st, is considered the most suitable candidate.
According to a poll conducted by R&Search on behalf of CBS No Cut News from the 20th to the 22nd, surveying 1,020 men and women nationwide aged 18 and older, Han received the highest support at 34.3% in the question regarding the "suitable Emergency Committee Chairman of the People Power Party." Han was found to have the support of 66.3% of the People Power Party supporters.
Following him were Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong (9.0% overall, 10.6% among People Power Party supporters), Kim Han-gil (5.2%, 3.1%), and former Innovation Committee Chairman In Yo-han (5.1%, 4.0%) in that order.
President Yoon Suk-yeol's approval rating was recorded at 38.8%, up 0.8 percentage points from the previous survey (conducted from the 13th to the 15th). Negative evaluations dropped by 0.9 percentage points to 58.2%.
By age group, except for those aged 70 and above (positive 59.6%, negative 36.1%), negative evaluations outnumbered positive evaluations in all other age groups.
By region, support in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam rose by 7.0 percentage points from the previous survey to 52.1%. Except for Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, and Daegu, Gyeongbuk (57.1%), negative evaluations were higher than positive evaluations in other regions.
By political inclination, positive evaluations were 64.7% among conservatives, down 1.2 percentage points; 35.7% among moderates, up 6 percentage points; and 14.1% among progressives, up 3 percentage points.
In the party support survey, the People Power Party rose 3.5 percentage points to 38.1%, while the Democratic Party of Korea fell 0.6 percentage points to 45.7%. The proportion of respondents with no party preference was 12.2%.
This poll was conducted using a structured questionnaire with a sample extracted by proportional allocation according to gender, age group, and regional population composition, employing a 100% automated response method via wireless telephone RDD (random digit dialing). The response rate was 2.4%, and the sampling error was ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
