Bus Hits Citizens at Suwon Station Transfer Center... "1 Dead, 11 Injured" (Comprehensive)
At around 1:27 PM on the 22nd, a city bus ran over citizens at Transfer Center No. 12 near Suwon Station in Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, resulting in multiple casualties.
The accident occurred when city bus number 30 repeatedly struck pedestrians crossing the crosswalk at the transfer center. The accident site is on the route from AK Plaza to Lotte Department Store and is adjacent to the train boarding and alighting area, making it a place with a significant flow of people.
As a result of this accident, one person died, and three others were seriously injured and transported to the hospital. Additionally, eight more people were injured, but it has not yet been confirmed whether their injuries are serious or minor. There is a possibility that the number of injured may increase once the exact count is completed.
Immediately after the accident, emergency calls to 112 and 119 reported that "bus number 30 hit multiple people" and "several people were injured."
A police official stated, "The bus driver is very shocked and has not been able to give a proper statement," adding, "The bus driver was also injured and was transported to the hospital, so the exact cause of the accident has not yet been investigated."
