[Harumanbo] Enjoying Nature in the Heart of the City... Sejong Hosu Park
The walking course introduced today is Sejong Lake Park, which has been open since 2013 and has become a mental sanctuary for the citizens of Sejong. Recently, we introduced a course that circles the west side around the lake, and this time, we have prepared an eastern course that is a bit longer but offers a wider variety of scenery. Starting from the Central Plaza, the course crosses the lake via Seho Bridge, then passes through the Green Field, Wind Hill, Wetland Island, Cheong-eum Bridge, and Festival Island before returning to the Central Plaza.
From the Central Plaza, the heart of the park, crossing Seho Bridge that spans the lake leads to the Green Field to the east. It is a wide lawn area designed for various play and relaxation activities. Nearby, along the Marronnier tree-lined street, there is also a silver sandy beach that gives visitors the feeling of being by the sea.

The next destination, Wind Hill, was created by shaping the wind blowing from the lake into gentle curves. It serves as a comfortable resting area where visitors can enjoy the cool breeze while viewing the gentle hills. Wind Hill also has another name: the 'National Balanced Development Symbol Park.' It is a space befitting a park located at the center of Sejong, the administrative city created for balanced national development, with benches engraved with quotes from past presidents who advocated for balanced development. It is also a place where you can get a close view of the Hope Fountain, the centerpiece of Sejong Lake Park. The fountain is a high jet fountain designed to shoot water up to 50 meters high, symbolizing 'the citizens' hopes soaring upward.'
As you walk, you will see land extending toward the lake in various directions, resembling flowing long hair. Located in the middle of this is Wetland Island, where various aquatic plants and herbaceous flowers such as Korean ash and Chinese tallow trees are planted. This area provides shade for people and serves as a refuge and spawning ground for creatures living in the lake.
Inside Cheong-eum Bridge lies Cheong-eum Pond, a space that supplies clear and clean water to the lake park by introducing water-purifying plants. Additionally, at Cheong-eum Waterfall, where water from Cheong-eum Pond flows into the lake, visitors can enjoy the clear and gentle sound of flowing water.

The final destination is Festival Island. It features a small waterside stage and a festival fountain with various water displays.
