Eastar Jet Launches New Cheongju-Taipei Route
Operating Daily from the 20th
On the 21st, Eastar Jet announced that it launched the Cheongju-Taipei (Taoyuan) route the day before. This is Eastar Jet's first international route departing from a regional airport and the third Taipei route following Gimpo and Incheon.
To commemorate the launch of the route, Eastar Jet held a ceremony attended by CEO Jo Joong-seok, Chungbuk Province Deputy Governor for Economic Affairs Kim Myung-gyu, Cheongju Deputy Mayor Shin Byung-dae, and other officials. Commemorative gifts were distributed to passengers on the inaugural flight ZE781.
Executives including Jo Joong-seok, CEO of Eastar Jet, Kim Myung-gyu, Deputy Governor of Chungbuk Province for Economic Affairs, Shin Byung-dae, Deputy Mayor of Cheongju City, and other officials are taking a commemorative photo.

This route departs from Cheongju Airport daily at 11:50 PM and arrives at Taoyuan Airport at 1:00 AM the next day. The return flight departs Taoyuan Airport at 2:00 AM and arrives at Cheongju Airport at 5:30 AM.
Last November, Eastar Jet signed a business agreement with Chungcheongbuk-do and Cheongju Airport to revitalize the airport. The agreement includes prioritizing the establishment of international routes, preferential employment of local talent, and development of tourism projects. With the launch of this route, Eastar Jet operates three domestic flights and one international flight daily through Cheongju Airport. Starting January 20 next year, it plans to operate the Jeju-Taipei (Taoyuan) route.

An Eastar Jet official said, “We started our first international route from a regional airport with the Cheongju route,” adding, “Since this route to Taiwan has high travel demand, we hope it will help improve flight convenience for those using Cheongju Airport.”
